Names and Labels
Everyone has the overwhelming need to give things clearly defined labels and names. I must confess that to an extent I am guilty of this as well. We feel that everything has to be neatly defined, filed away, and categorized. The problem with doing this with psychic abilities and phenomenon is that all-too-often the same things gets labeled multiple times as something completely different. The reason this occurs is actually quite simple. There are no official standards. So when a spiritualist labels psychic perception as clairvoyant vision and a government official calls it remote viewing people become confused. They begin to assume because this has been given two different names that they are separate abilities. The reality is that they are simply two different methods for utilizing the same ability.
Another excellent example of this is “etheric” projection vs. astral projection. Some people actually differentiate between real-time astral projection and astral projection into the “higher vibrational planes” as two separate things. They label out-of-body experiences that take place in the lower vibrational astral planes as “etheric”. Technically all astral projection takes place in the etheric realm. Etheric refers to anything that doesn’t exist within the physical plane of reality. Every level of the astral is etheric. I know that there are overly complex charts and labellings of all of the different “separate” planes of the astral, but that is simply a convoluted attempt to label something unlimited and define it with a limited meaning. I don’t perceive the astral as consisting of separate planes because I know that they are all connected and undivided.
The very fabric of the universe is in a constant state of temporal flux so we feel the need to give things the illusion of stability by clearly labeling each piece of it. The problem with this is that what works fairly well for the physical universe can’t be applied as efficiently to the plasticity of the non-physical universe of constantly transforming energy. When you enter the realm of higher dimensional energy things actually become less clearly defined and the very act of defining what you perceive actually only limits your ability to accurately perceive the fullness of its true nature. On the other hand if you allow yourself to experience the fullness of these higher energies without feeling the need to label and name them, then you will find that you are well on your way to realizing your full potential.
